SPECIFIC RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR THE SUPER LEAGUE EVENTS

INTRODUCTION 
The purpose of the super league circuit is to uplift the `A Class` fighters who have proven themselves on the normal amateur circuit.

AUTHORITY 
The rules as contained in this document are additional to the rules and regulations of SAKA. The super league events are sanctioned by the SA Kickboxing Association.

RULE 1 : SAKA RULES 
All rules governing a SAKA bout will be obided by except for changes provided by Super League specific rules as from Rule 2.

RULE 2 : SUPER - AM SPECIFIC RULES   
2.1 A bout will consist of four two minute rounds for seniors.  Juniors remain three, two minute rounds. This can be changed depending on the nature of the event. Changes must be sanctioned by the chairperson of SAKA. 
2.2 The winner receives the champions belt for that specific weight division after each bout. The belt is not the property of the winner after each bout and he / she must return it when defending the title. Should the belt be damaged while in the custody of the winner he / she must purchase a new belt before his / her return bout. Once a fighter has defended the title successfully for three times in succession the belt becomes his / her property. 
2.3 The fighter will not receive any purse money for competing.  Prizes,cash and vouchers can be given to the fighters by the promoter of the event to cover costs. 
2.4 Should a fighter bleed and the bleeding can be controlled without the bleeding being a medical danger to anyone or the fighter, the bout can continue.  Should the referee be uncertain he / she will stop the bout and the ring doctor will make a decision whether the bout can continue or not.. The person not bleeding will be declared the winner. 
2.5 Should the opportunity for a continental, inter-continental or world title be offered the present holder of the belt will be invited to fight for it. Should the mentioned fighter not be in a position to fight for that title the SAKA Executive will decide who fights for the title. 
2.6  A title defence can only take place after one month. 
2.7 Should a fighter be KO`d he / she may not compete or spar for at least 30 days.   Should a fighter have been KO`d for a second time within a six month period he /  she must undergo a medical and may not compete for at least three months. Should a fighter be KO`d for a third time he / she may no longer participate in the circuit. SAKA medical safety rules must be followed. 
2.8 A title holder who is not challenged for eighteen months may keep the title belt. 
2.9 A title holder may not refuse a challenge after one month. Should he / she do so he / she will automatically loose the title. 
2.10 The medical and the weigh-in will be done a day before the bout or at least one hour before the event. 
2.11 To participate in the super league one must be a member of SAKA. 
2.12 Should a fighter at the weigh-in not be within his / her weight division the bout  becomes a catch weight bout and the fighter who was found to be over weight cannot win the title. The fighter within the weight limit may win the belt should he / she win the bout. 
2.13 Should the title holder not be within the weight limit at a title defence he / she looses the belt and rule 2.12 applies. 
2.14 A fighter who was invited to fight, and, cancels his/her participation within a month before the bout without a doctors letter stating that he / she can no longer fight will not be invited to participate in the circuit for twelve months. Should a fighter cancel at the last minute the instructor is responsible to organize a replacement.  Should the title holder cancel without a good reason he / she loses the belt. 
2.15 Once the fighter has successfully defended the title for three times the title becomes vacant and a new belt will be made for that specific weight division.

RULE 3 : SPONSORSHIP 
3.1 Event sponsorship is the responsibility of the organizer. 
3.2 No person is allowed to make use of the super league event for advertisement without the permission of the organizer. 
3.3 Club and style logos may be worn by fighters and coaches. 
3.4 The two instructors whose fighters are competing for the title are responsible for the payment of the belt should there be no sponsors. 

RULE 4 : OFFICIATING 
4.1 All officials must be objective and apply the rules correctly at all times. 
4.2 No coach at the specific event may also act as an official at the event. 
4.3 No person will be utilized as an official who did not attend the training seminar and have had practical experience.

RULE 5 : EQUIPMENT 
5.1 Senior fighters participate without a head guard.  For the rest of the equipment the amateur rules and regulations are mandatory.  
5.2 Each club must have their own set of  sanctioned red and blue gloves to be worn by the fighter depending on the allocated corner to fight from.

RULE 6:  WEIGHT DIVISIONS RING STYLE FIGHTING 
6.1 WAKO Weight Divisions will be used.
